š Example Use Case
Letās say you have different titles configured for various product categoriesālike Apparel Title
, Beauty Title
, or Electronics Title
.
Instead of exporting them as separate columns, you can merge them into one column (e.g., Category Title
) using the custom export feature. During export, the system will smartly pick the relevant title for each product and place it under a single header in the output file.
ā This makes the export cleaner, easier to upload elsewhere (e.g., marketplaces), and avoids empty or redundant columns.
Note:
You can also use the āMerge Multipleā feature in your existing export templates.
If you've already created a template:
Go to your Custom Export Template list
Click on the āEditā option next to the template you want to update
Once inside, navigate to the āMappingā section
From there, you can follow Step 4 onwards in this document to set up merged attributes.
Step 1: Navigate to Custom Templates
From the left-hand menu, click on "Custom Template" under the Export section.
Step 2: Click on "Create Export"
Once you're on the Custom Template page, go to the top-right corner and click on the āCreate Exportā
Step 3: Fill in Configuration Details
In the Configuration section, enter the following:
Template Name ā Give your export a clear, descriptive name.
Description ā (Optional) Add notes for internal reference.
File Extension ā Choose
.csv
,.xls
, or the format you need.
Step 4: Click on the āMappingā Section
After entering all configuration details, scroll down and click on the āMappingā header to start defining which attributes should appear in your export file.
This is where youāll configure the merging of multiple attributes into a single column.
Step 5: Configure the "Merge Multiple" Option in "Mapping"
Once inside the Mapping tab:
From the Trustana Attributes dropdown, select Merge Multiple.
In the Attributes to group field, choose the attributes you want to combine. You can select up to 25 attributes.
From the Delimiter (split by) dropdown, select how you want to separate values. You can choose options like:
Comma
,
Vertical bar
|
For Output only values choose Yes or No
In the Export Header column, type the name you want to give this merged column in the exported file.
Step 6: Finalize and Create
Once youāve completed the configuration and mapping:
Scroll to the bottom right of the page
Click on the āCreateā button to save and generate your custom export template
