Grouping product variations together

Product Options, or Variants, represent the manufacturer's intention to cater to multiple end-users' needs.

Updated over a week ago

Similar to being able to store all of the existing information on a certain product, customers need to manage how products are related to each other. We refer to them as variants.

Variant Products are versions of the same product that have differences in ways meant to cater to various end-user needs. By storing the relationship between the products, customers can manage the product life cycle easier across all variants of a product.

Create a Variant Group with existing SKUs

On Homepage, click on the Product tab on the navigation panel to the left.

This will give you an overview of the products associated with your account.

  1. Make sure the products you want to group exist.

You may use the search bar to find all the SKUs to group. Usually, these products have a similar name with a slight variation to highlight the difference.

For example, color and storage combinations of Apple iPhone 14 could be:

    Apple iPhone 14 - Midnight - 256GB
    Apple iPhone 14 - Starlight - 512GB

So searching with just 'Apple iPhone 14' would shortlist the SKUs relevant to the grouping.

  2. Select all the SKUs you want to group.
At least 2 SKUs must be selected.

  3. In between the search bar and the product list headers, on the middle right, is a function named 'Create Variant Group'. Click it.

  4. Give your Variant Group a name. The master product name would be ideal.

In our previous example, this would be 'Apple iPhone 14' and would contain all the SKU variations and combinations for that product.

  5. Click 'Save'

  6. In case you need to remove SKU from a Variant Group, click on the 'Product ID' for that grouping.

  7. On the pop-up window, proceed to remove products from the grouping by clicking on the minus icon on the right of the Product ID.
