Setting Up Google Analytics Integration

Grant Trustana read-only access to your Google Analytics 4 property in under 5 minutes. No revenue data is accessed, and you can revoke access at any time.

Updated yesterday

Trustana's Storefront Analytics connects to your Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property to show you how your products are performing on your storefront. Setup takes less than 5 minutes and requires no technical knowledge.

What You Need

  • Admin access to your Google Analytics account

  • Your GA4 Property ID (a 9-digit number)

What Trustana Gets Access To

  • Read-only traffic and event data — page views, sessions, add-to-cart events, purchase events

  • No revenue data — we never see transaction amounts or order values

  • No modification rights — we cannot change your GA4 configuration, create events, or modify anything

You can revoke access at any time by removing our service account from your GA4 property.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Open Google Analytics Admin

Go to analytics.google.com and sign in. Select the GA4 property for your storefront, then click the Admin gear icon (bottom-left).

2. Open Property Access Management

In the Property column (the middle column), click Property Access Management.

If you don't see this option, make sure you're looking at the Property column — not the Account column on the left or Data Streams on the right.

3. Add Trustana as a Viewer

  1. Click the + button, then Add users

  2. Enter this email address exactly:

trustana-ecommerce-integration@tr-ga4-ecommerce-integration.iam.gserviceaccount.com

  1. Set the role to Viewer (read-only)

  2. Uncheck "Notify new users by email" (service accounts don't have inboxes)

  3. Click Add

You may see a warning that the email address is not a Google account. This is normal — service accounts are a special type of Google identity used for system-to-system access. Proceed with adding it.

4. Send Your Property ID to Trustana

  1. In the Admin panel, click Property Settings (top of the Property column)

  2. Your Property ID is the 9-digit number shown at the top of the page

  3. Send this number to your Trustana account manager

5. We Handle the Rest

Your Trustana account manager will:

  • Validate the connection

  • Configure the dashboard reports for your account

  • Let you know when your Storefront Analytics page is live

Multiple Storefronts

If you have separate GA4 properties for different regions (e.g., US site, EU site), provide the Property ID for your primary storefront.

Revoking Access

To remove Trustana's access at any time:

  1. Go to Admin > Property Access Management

  2. Find trustana-ecommerce-integration@... in the list

  3. Click the three-dot menu and select Remove access

Your Storefront Analytics dashboard will stop updating, but no data is deleted from your GA4 property.

FAQ

Can Trustana modify my Google Analytics?
No. Viewer access is strictly read-only. We cannot create events, modify settings, or access any admin features.

Is my revenue data visible to Trustana?
No. We only access aggregate traffic metrics and event counts (page views, sessions, add-to-cart events, purchase events). Revenue amounts are never accessed or displayed.
