🔍 Where Should This Data Come From?

Don’t worry — you're not expected to create a category tree from scratch. In most cases, you already have one in your existing eCommerce system or website.

Here’s how to find it based on your platform:

  1. Shopify: Use your Collections or Navigation Menu as a starting point. These usually reflect your live category structure and can be exported.

  2. Magento / WooCommerce / BigCommerce: Your category hierarchy can often be exported directly from the Admin > Catalog > Categories section.

  3. Custom Websites / CMS: Your development or web content team can help pull your category list from the CMS, backend settings, or site structure.

⚠️ Important: Please submit your category data using the CSV template provided by Trustana. For technical compatibility, we can’t accept spreadsheets in other formats.

✅ Step 1: Use the CSV Template Provided by Trustana

Use the file attached at the end of this page.

🧾 Step 2: Fill Out the Template

Each row in the template represents a category or subcategory. Here's how to complete each column:

  • Category ID: Unique identifier for each category

  • Node Name: The name you want displayed for that category (e.g., Clothing)

  • Description: (Optional) Any additional context or notes

  • parent: The Category ID of the immediate parent node. Leave blank if it's a top-level category.
